Learn the most important steps on the potter’s wheel, from a lump of clay to the finished glazed mug, bowl or plate. This course is ideal for beginners who are trying to throw on the wheel for the first time. In this beginner’s course, you will learn how to work on the potter’s wheel, explore the basics, try something new and learn a lot about ceramics.
The course is structured as follows:
Day 1: We prepare the clay and turn on the potter’s wheel.
Day 2: We learn how to trim your vessels and design the foot of the previously thrown pieces.
Day 3: After the pieces have been dried and fired – they will now be glazed. The glazing appointment always takes place 2 weeks after the first two course days. After the glazing date the vessels will be fired again – after which they will be ready for pick up.
Your pieces will be ready for pick up 3 weeks after glazing.
On both pottery days, an experienced teacher is present.
Clay, raw firing and glaze firing are included in the price. You don’t have to bring anything, except maybe an old t-shirt or an apron. (However, clay washes easily out of clothing otherwise!)
